Wearable IoT Device to Detect Abnormal Gait
May 2022 - December 2022
- Designed, modeled, and prototyped a patent pending proof-of-concept wearable Bluetooth medical anklet device that analyzed real-time detection of abnormal gait with 90% accuracy with a team of 6 engineering students
- Created a machine learning model in Python to predict expected gait cycle using live data gathered from an IMU, ToF, FSR, and bending sensor mounted onto an Arduino board
- Managed team in creation of experimental design to capture over 100 different training and testing set data for machine learning model and led presentations in front of stakeholders
- Researched and tested properties and preparation techniques for silicon molding to embed device into custom 3D printed mold
- Documented meetings, design process, and code for future organizational reference
- Successfully demonstrated concept feasibility through field testing
Can Opener 3D Model

- Analyzed handheld functional can opener to obtain dimensions to be used in final model and collaborated with a design team of 3 student engineers
- Modeled an accurate representation of can opener in Creo Parametric that included 22 unique parts
- Can Opener assembly successfully mimicked real life functionality
Self-functioning Water Pump

- Led team of 8 students on design and fabrication of a self-functioning water pump within a budget of $200
- Delegated tasks, ran meetings, planned designs and presented poster and oral presentation to Dean of Engineering
- Device successfully demonstrated required self-pumping functionality while remaining under specified budget
